Sekou Campbell, Treasurer
Sekou Campbell is a second-year associate with Fox Rothschild’s litigation department where he works on entertainment, white collar, and products liability matters. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University and a Juris Doctorate from Cardozo Law School.
While in law school, Sekou interned for the Hon. Kiyo Matsumoto of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He also served as a board member of Cardozo’s Black Law Students Association; associate articles editor of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal; and board member of the Public Interest Law Students Association. Upon graduation, he won the Cardozo Service and Achievement Award.
Prior to practicing law, Sekou worked in theater and education. He began his career with Teach for America at Community Junior High School 145 in the South Bronx, where he taught math. He then advised faculty and taught students at schools and theater companies throughout the New York metropolitan area. In addition, Sekou has appeared in approximately 50 film and theatrical productions in the United States and Germany. Most notably, he performed in a production of “Herakles via Phaedre” directed by MacArthur Fellow Ellen Stewart; and “Richard 3” directed by Tony-award nominee Andrei Serban. Both productions were modern adaptations of classical works typical of Sekou’s acting career.
