Salena Jones is General Counsel at the Philadelphia Office of the City Controller. She provides legal advice on strategy and implementation to the Controller’s Office executive staff and the City Controller, as well as ensures that the office operates within the legal parameters of its appointed power.
Ms. Jones’ experience includes serving in several leadership roles at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, including East Division Chief, Community Engagement Chief, and Chair of the Hate Crimes Task Force. Prior to joining the DA’s Office, she worked for eight years as Juvenile Probation Officer. She is a past President of the National Black Prosecutor’s Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter (2017-2018). She received her Juris Doctorate from Temple University, her Master of Arts in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies from LaSalle University and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
