Why Membership matters

Members of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia are provided with opportunities for professional development, community enrichment, mentoring and networking with other legal professionals. Members are also given early access to employment opportunities. NetWorking

Every month members are invited to the General Body meeting where legal luminaries participate in panels discussing topics such as voting rights, tips on discovering a mentor and case law updates. After each meeting, members are given the opportunity to network with legal professionals from all backgrounds.

In addition to monthly meetings, members are encourage to attend staple events such as the Meet the Judges reception, the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast and happy hours. Our network includes over 1,000 attorneys and we are an affiliate of the National Bar Association.

Outreach

Members of the  Barristers’ Association are encouraged to make a difference in the community by participating outreach programs such as Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, Life Planning Clinics and Annual Scholarship Gala & Awards.

Education

Continuing Legal Education credits are offered to members at a reduced cost. Members will have the opportunity to attend informative meetings and workshops intended to expand and hone legal skills, to help make a more complete and seasoned attorney.

Students

Law Students are offered membership with The Philadelphia Barristers’ Association FREE of charge! Our resources and large network allow upcoming legal minds to meet black lawyers, judges and others in the Greater Philadelphia Area. In addition, we offer our Barristers’ Scholarship to law students of color, and our Annual Scholarship Gala & Awards recognizes excellence among student ranks. Join Now .
